On YouTube, the popular singer greeted everyone with a surprise “Christmas present” for her fans.

“Hohoho! Merry Christmas, everyone! Here, I brought a present for y’all. New video! I know this is not Carol, not even related to Christmas but I’ve wanted to sing this song for a long time. I covered Ni Yao De Ai, the OST from one of my favorite drama programs! Hope this song gives you a warm feeling just like Christmas!” she wrote on the caption of the video she posted on her YouTube channel Dara TV.

Penny Tai’s song became very popular in the early 2000s and has always been remembered by so many Meteor Garden fans. How can we even forget the song that plays each time an episode ends? Ni Yao De Ai is definitely one of the most popular songs in the hit 2001 Taiwanese series that made the F4 and Barbie Hsu rise to fame

Meanwhile, some also went down memory lane when they realized that Dara became very popular in the Philippines as the well-loved “Pambansang Krung-krung” in the early 2000s, as well. (Ah, back-to-back nostalgia in one video! Thank you, Dara, for this Christmas gift!)

Nostalgic! Here’s the original version of “Ni Yao De Ai” performed by Penny Tai:

And of course, we also fell in love with Michelle Ayalde’s Tagalog version, “Ang Hanap Ko”. It must have been the theme song of couples who were so much in love!

But hey, we cannot deny how Korean singer Sandara Park gave us so much feels with her cover of the Chinese song (original version)!
