Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach will not be around at the 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition — but she is undeniably one of Binibining Pilipinas 2019 Gazini Ganados’ biggest supporters.
On her official Facebook page, Pia posted a couple of photos with Gazini, who will represent Philippines in the Miss Universe 2019 pageant to be held in Atlanta, Georgia; telling the latter that she was “born for this”.
“Good luck kisses from me to you! The whole Philippines is rooting for you, @gazinii, and I always got your back girl! You were born to do this. Go get that crown!” the actress-beauty queen, who ended the country’s 42-year Miss Universe drought when she won in 2015, captioned the pictures she uploaded.
Earlier, Pia announced that she will not be present in the upcoming pageant because she needs to attend a travel show in Japan, explaining, “My travel show was invited by the tourism board of Japan to feature a festival in Fukuoka. Our working visas were released already before MUO (Miss Universe Organization) announced the date and venue.”
“MUO invited me to be backstage host with CHI and I really want to!” she said. “But it would also be impolite for me to cancel my trip to Japan. Government invitation ‘yon. At may mga visa na kami. Sayang. If I had known sooner, baka nagawan ko pa ng paraan.”
At present, Gazini is deeply overwhelmed by the outpouring support from her fellow Filipinos.
