A barangay in Pasig City was lauded by the local government of Batangas for donating shoes, slippers to Taal victi
Through the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 085-R5 of Batangas, the provincial government of Batangas commended Barangay San Antonio Chairman Raymond Lising for donating slippers and rubber shoes to their residents which was far different from the other donations given to them.
“A resolution expressing our profoundest appreciation and gratitude to honorable Chairman Thomas Raymond U. Lising, who has generously given assistance and support to the Province Batangas and its people, most especially those who were affected by the eruption Taal Volcano,” the resolution stated.
Lising expressed gratitude to the donors of the footwear, saying, “I am very grateful to all the donors. Labis nilang napasaya ang mga biktima ng Taal. Higit sa lahat, kakaiba kasi ito kaysa sa usual na ibinibigay kaya tuwang-tuwa sila.”
“Highly Exclusive, Inc., owned by Mr. Raul Roque, donated 1, 500 pairs of shoes, while Krooberg gave 1, 200 pairs of slippers. The donations were turned over to Junior Chamber International Ortigas (JCI-Ortigas Chapter), then, they collaborated with us in the barangay for transportation and distribution,” noted Lising, the former president of the chapter.
Barangay San Antonio is also the first barangay in Pasig to give aid to the Taal vict
“They are very thankful for the new shoes and slippers that we gave them. Sobrang nakakataba ng pu
so ang pasasalamat nila,” Lising said. “Shoes and slippers, isa sa mga pangunahing needs na nalimutan din na ibigay sa mga evacu ees.”
