‘Anong ambag mo? #MayTwentyAko’: Student encourages P20 donation for the homeless

Amid the threat of COVID-19, a student is encouraging social media users to donate P20 to support the initiative of distributing hygiene products to the homeless.

On Facebook, Charisse Parcha asked the help of her fellow students in a bid to purchase enough hand sanitizers and soaps for the beneficiaries of the program; noting that the less fortunate individuals have greater risk of getting infected by the dreaded virus.

“Friends, let’s raise funds to purchase hand sanitizers and soaps for the less fortunate who are at greater risk of COVID-19. Para kapag tinanong nila kayo kung anong ambag ninyo, ang sagot n’yo ay #MayTwentyAko!” she wrote. “Sa mga kapwa ko estudyante, dito natin galingan!”

One may support the fundraising campaign by sending donations through GCash and PayMaya.

COVID-19 in PH

According to the latest data from the Department of Health (DOH), the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 307; which includes 19 fatalities and 13 recoveries.

Earlier, the DOH launched the DOH COVID-19 emergency hotlines 02-894-COVID (02-894-26843) and 1555 in partnership with the National Emergency Hotline of the Department of Interior and Local Government, and PLDT and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications Inc.

Through the hotlines, callers can ask questions if they suspect they are infected with COVID-19, or request assistance if they have symptoms and/or known exposure to confirmed cases or patients under investigation.

The information collected from emergency calls is transmitted to the COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center and other relevant agencies for immediate facilitation and response.
