- Basel tried to buy ice cream from a vendor with only one peso
- He was amazed because the vendor gave him ice cream for free
- In return for his kindness, the Syrian blogger bought all of his ice cream and brought his cart to his shop
Basel, the famous Syrian blogger was up for another mission.
He tried to buy local ice cream from an ice cream vendor with only one peso in his pocket. He was surprised that the old man still gave him ice cream, not in a cone but in a cup that was being sold for 15 pesos. The man looked at him and knew he was well off yet he gave the ice cream for free.
Touched by the man’s kindness, Basel, bought all of his ice cream, gave him a bonus and tried to sell the ice cream himself. Later, he came up with a better plan.
He took the cart to his shop and had the vendor sell there for a higher price since customers will be able to enjoy free wifi, aircon and can dine in on his restaurant.
Basel shared in his post that it is better to give than to receive.
“When you give, you actually get so much more in return. Maybe not in the same form, but in a more meaningful and valuable form.”
“The Hungry Syrian Wanderer” has always been so compassionate and thoughtful to the less fortunate. From helping ordinary citizens like this vendor, he has also organized donation drives during the Mindanao quak
es and the Taal Volc ano eru ption. Aside from helping humanity, he also has a big h eart for animals for he has helped many stray cats find their forever homes. No wonder he has been blessed with a sustainable li fe.
A netizen expressed her appreciation. “Wow, you truly have a big h
eart. Sana you’d let him stay na lang sa place mo on a daily basis for his customers to buy and he won’t make lalad-lakad under the init of the araw. May he bless you more for being such a blessing to others.”
Tatay, the vendor is already 63 years old and is still working under the heat of the sun to earn. He was so happy to receive a lot of surprises that day. Basel also treated him to a sumptuous meal at his YOLO Bubble Milktea and Retro Diner.
We hope he gets a permanent location at the shop.
