Popular singer Katy Perry gave a piece of inspiring advice to the American Idol contestant who forgot the lyrics of The Script‘s Br
eakeven while performing onstage.
Commenting on the performance of Fil-Am singer Francisco Martin and his fellow contestant Louis Knight, Katy told Francisco that forgetting the lyrics of a song and making a mistake while performing is “okay” and he must not give up because of that.
“Francisco, if you make a mistake or if you forget the words, that’s okay. We do it all the time. Just don’t give up and don’t show defeat. You can go backstage and
kick a trashcan if you need to. But don’t let the audience know,” the international singing idol said.
Francisco, who looked really upset after his performance, finally smiled as he thanked her.
Well-known singer Luke Bryan, Katy’s fellow judge, then asked Francisco if he always feel nervous while performing onstage. The young contestant replied, “Not really that. It’s more of me not believing in myself as much as other people do.”
Luke told Francisco to trust the ones who do the screening of contestants in American Idol.
“We have tremendous hopes and dreams for you guys. You need to trust us and the people around you that you are this good. You are,” he expressed.
“You are born enough,” added music legend Lionel Richie, who is also a judge in the aforementioned singing contest. “There’s nothing you have to prove except to yourself.
Despite what happended, Francisco and Louis were able to make it to the next round of the competition. Keep the passion!
