Lighting up its building with a huge red heart, The Peninsula Manila brought hope in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in the country.

On Facebook, The Peninsula Manila, a landmark hotel that has been a destination in its own right since its opening in 1976, uploaded a image of the building with an enormous glowing red heart.

“Home is where the heart is. Sharing love and hope from your family at The Peninsula Manila,” read the caption of the picture.

Social media users thanked the hotel management for being one with the Filipinos amid the time of crisis. To note, it has been more than a month since the enhanced community quarantine started in Luzon as part of the government’s fight against COVID-19.

COVID-19 hotlines

Amid the threat of the dreaded disease, the DOH launched the DOH COVID-19 emergency hotlines 02-894-COVID (02-894-26843) and 1555 in partnership with the National Emergency Hotline of the Department of Interior and Local Government, and PLDT and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications Inc.

Through the hotlines, callers can ask questions if they suspect they are infected with COVID-19, or request assistance if they have symptoms and/or known exposure to confirmed cases or patients under investigation.

The information collected from emergency calls is transmitted to the COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center and other relevant agencies for immediate facilitation and response.
