Lighting up its building with a huge red heart, The Peninsula Manila brought hope in the midst of the ongoing CO
VID-19 cri sis in the country.
On Facebook, The Peninsula Manila, a landmark hotel that has been a destination in its own right since its opening in 1976, uploaded a image of the building with an enormous glowing red heart.
“Home is where the heart is. Sharing love and hope from your family at The Peninsula Manila,” read the caption of the picture.
Social media users thanked the hotel management for being one with the Filipinos amid the time of cri
sis. To note, it has been more than a month since the enhanced community quarantine started in Luzon as part of the government’s fi ght against COVID-19.
Amid the thr
eat of the dreaded dis ease, the DOH launched the DOH COVID-19 emer gency hotlines 02-894-COVID (02-894-26843) and 1555 in partnership with the National Emergency Hotline of the Department of Interior and Local Government, and PLDT and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications Inc.
Through the hotlines, callers can ask questions if they suspect they are infected with COVID-19, or request assistance if they have symptoms and/or known exposure to confirmed cases or pati
ents under investigation.
The information collected from emergency calls is transmitted to the COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center and other relevant agencies for immediate facilitation and response.
