- Mak Tumang left Instagram users in awe when he shared a photo of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s original ‘lava gown’ beside a replica
- The replica will be used for Catriona’s wax figure at the Madame Tussauds wax museum
- Catriona will be the third Filipino to be immortalized in the museum, next to boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach
Designer Mak Tumang recreated Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s iconic “lava gown” for the beauty queen’s Madame Tussauds wax figure.
In an Instagram post, Mak shared an image showing the original gown and its replica with the caption “Spot the difference. Exclusive replica for Madame Tussauds.” He also used the hashtag “off to London.”
Catriona herself was in awe of the creation. She commented, “Omgomgomgomg.”
Catriona was wearing this red gown with high slit when she was crowned Miss Universe 2018. It was inspired by Mayon Volcano, which can be found in Albay, her mother’s hometown.
In January, Catriona herself announced that she will be having her own figure at the wax museum.
“I am so excited to see the final figure and be a part of this special event! To unveil the figure in my home country with my fans watching is another dream come true,” Catriona said.
Catriona will be the third Filipino to have a wax figure displayed at Madame Tussauds. Others who are immortalized in the museum are boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
“Her (Catriona) image will be immortalized in Madame Tussauds and unveiling will take place in her home country and her figure will be touring to Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong respectively,” Madame Tussauds Singapore said.
So, have you figured out which is the original and which is the replica?
