- An 11-year-old girl sells her paintings to fund her medical treatments
- Her supportive mom also goes out of her way to gain funds for her daughter
- Despite her condition, she never loses hope because she puts all her faith in God
Nobody wants to get sick. It affects our quality of li
fe; not to mention that it can be very costly at times. However, sometimes, God puts us to the test. How long can we hold on to our faith in Him? Do we continue finding ways to sustain treatment? Or just give up and accept everything?
Here is a young girl who, amid her fragile condition, remains positive and exerts all her effort to fund her treatments.
Quiljade “Chinchin” A. Armas is an 11-year-old kid from Basiao, Ivisan, Capiz, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leu
kemia (AML) in 2018. She has just entered her adolescent years, but her sense of responsibility goes beyond her age.
To gain money for her treatments, Chinchin paints and sells them at reasonable prices. Her mother said she is just a beginner in this field, but looking at her artworks, she is a budding talent in painting with a full potential ahead of her. As she paints more, she gets better than ever.
She would draw anything from still objects, landscapes to portraits, animals and so much more. And where does she get all her strength? She is a wa
rrior, a soul full of positivity because she believes God will never leave her behind.
Furthermore, she has a loving mom who, since the diagnosis of her condition, has dedicated herself to selling anything she can think of to earn for her daughter’s medical needs — fruits, plants, masks, anything worth selling.
Fighting the big C is a very long and arduous ba
ttle. Ch emotherapy sessions seem endless, plus every prescription means expenses. We hope many can help this young girl li ve a beautiful li fe and fulfill her dreams.
