- Raffy Tulfo pledges financial, groceries and medical assistance to actor John Regala during his interview at his show in TV5
- The actor revealed that he has liver cirrhosis but refuses to receive medical treatment
- John told Raffy that he is living alone and his wife had left him because of his condition and due to lack of money
With the request of fans, Raffy Tulfo reached out to John Regala for an interview on his TV5 program “Idol in Action.”
As a means of helping the actor, Raffy Tulfo pledged to give P100,000 plus groceries and medical aid.
The broadcaster said, “Sa ngayon po, magpi-pledge ako. Magbibigay ako ng isandaang libong piso at bukod pa ho diyan magbibigay ako ng gamot, groceries para sa’yo. At kung ano pa po maitutulong namin, ibibigay ko pa po.”
“Salamat po. Diyos na po ang bahalang gumanti sa inyo, kuya,” John became emotional.
Earlier, news circulated that the actor was found alone and not in good condition. He sought help from a food rider after feeling dizzy. John, at that time, was waiting for a nurse friend who will give him assistance.

er ci rrhosis. Sugat-sugat na ang aking at ay, at may tubig na ang aking tiyan at kailangang matanggal,” John described himself.
However, he said he is no longer interested in having the water removed because he wants to follow his mom, the late Ruby Regala, who succumbed to br
ain tu mor in January this year.

John also revealed that his wife had left him because of his condition and due to lack of money. His wife is in Pandacan and he is no longer interested in searching for her anymore.
Currently, John lives alone with his dog. He receives support from some of his friends who check on him once in a while.
“Ako po ay nahihiya pero kakapalan ko na po ang mukha ko. Bawat tao naman po ay dumadaan sa ganitong sitwasyon. Sana po kung hindi naman kalabisan sa inyo, pakitulungan naman po ako. Nagpapakumbaba po ako ng labis labis. Gusto ko lang po talagang makapaghanapbuhay.”
The actor also received help from fellow artists. Nadia Montenegro, Chuckie Dreyfus, and Aster Amoyo have set up a “Gava Gives Assistance Account” to channel in donations for his financial needs.
John has made more than a hundred movies during his career and became famous for his antagonist roles.
