Without any other details or confirmation from the Filipino champ, American boxer Ryan Garcia claims his next bout will be against Manny ‘Pacman’ Paccquiao.
Garcia announced in his social media pages he’ll be sharing the ring with Pacquaio soon but gave no exact date as to when it’ll be happening.’
The 22-year-old Garcia (21-0, 18 KO) also expressed his respect and admiration for the 42-year-old Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KO), the world’s only eight division titlist.
“I will always respect what you did in and out the ring. Here’s to the best Man Winning,” he added.
In an early interview, Garcia admitted he’s been looking forward to fighting Pacman whom he described as a ‘legend’ and an ‘inspiration’.
“Manny’s a legend. Manny’s a person I’ve always looked up to. You can’t say anything bad about Manny. I wouldn’t even be mad in the ring with him,” he said.
“Even if he hit me, I don’t know how I would react. I would be just, like, ‘Yo, man, you hit me! I can’t believe this, yes! Hit me more!’ He’s been an inspiration to me,” the boxing’s rising star added.
Meanwhile, the camp of the Filipino boxing icon has yet to confirm or comment on Garcia’s claim despite rumors of his possible return to the ring after almost two years.
Pacquaio’s last fight was in July 2019 against Keith Thurman whom he defeated in a split decision to claim the WBA world welterweight title.
