The City of Manila has acquired a 6,000 square meter private lot worth more than P100 million to be distributed to the poor families as part of the local government’s housing program.
In a statement shared on Facebook on Wednesday, Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso said one of his dreams is to provide a safe and decent community to the poorest of city’s constituents.
The lot, which is 6,003 square meter in area, is located in Pasigline in Sta. Ana and is expected to benefit more or less 600 families. It was bought for P111-M, according to Domagoso.
Domagoso, together with Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, witnessed the signing of the contract of sale at the City Hall on Wednesday; saying the project is for the “Land of the Landless” program.
The private property was acquired through the efforts of the Urban Settlements Office.
Walang mayaman, walang mahirap. Lahat pantay-pantay, nilingon ang lahat,” Mayor Isko further wrote on his Facebook post.
