The man who first shared the ‘confusing’ photo of actress-singer Rachel Alejandro passing it off as Vice President Leni Robredo admitted it was just a joke and meant no offense on both personalities.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News, Mark Raven Dominguez said he did not expect his post to go viral and get Robredo’s attention herself.

“I just want to say that’s a pure sarcasm joke. I just want to chill from our toxic political insights. I know that’s Miss Rachel Alejandro first-hand because that was clearly her Instagram feed,” Dominguez explained.

Apparently, many people didn’t get Dominguez’s joke that the Vice President herself had to issue a denial after social media users sent her a copy of the viral photo.

“Was initially confused why a number of people are sending me this. Kalma lang po. Hindi ako yan. Andito po ako sa opisina, wala sa Palawan. Ako na po humihingi ng paumanhin kay Rachel Alejandro,” Robredo said in the caption of the same photo she also shared.

It was clear in Dominguez’s photo that it’s a screen shot of Alejandro’s Instagram post as it clearly showed the actress’ name on top. However, Dominguez was surprised that many netizens didn’t immediately see this.

Nevertheless, he apologized if his post offended anyone since he meant no harm on anybody.

He also clarified he’s neither DDS nor Yellowtard even if several social media users accused him of being anti-Robredo.

“And I just want to make things clear that I am not a DDS or Dilawan or such. I don’t have any political colors, I know what is just and right,” Dominguez said.

The original photo is actually a picture shared by Rachel Alejandro on Instagram last January 20 while in Palawan. Her caption was: “I never fail to tell people who have never been to our country that the Philippines has the best beaches in the world. Do you agree?”
