Philippines' MANILA - The host-actor Vhong Navarro, who was allegedly tied up and assaulted by a bunch of guys inside a condo unit in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig, is currently healing from his wounds. His manager, Chito Rono, claims that the event took place on January 22, 2014.
The host-actor was invited by a female acquaintance to visit her condo unit in Taguig, according to a statement supplied by film director Chito Rono to ABS-CBN Newson Friday. Navarro was allegedly beaten up by multiple men after being blindfolded as soon as he entered the condominium's grounds.
As he continues to heal, Navarro will temporarily miss his weekday and Saturday noontime program "It's Showtime" as well as his other television endeavors. On Thursday and Friday, Navarro was not present for the aforementioned noontime program.
Rono continued to speak with ABS-CBN News while he noted that Navarro might require surgery because of his wounds. Additionally, he claimed that the actor was unable to describe the incident in detail because of his current speech impairment.
The 37-year-old actor has two sons from prior marriages and is rumored to be dating someone outside of the entertainment industry right now.
Here is Rono's complete statement:
“Si Vhong Navarro ay naimbitihan sa isang condominium unit sa Fort ng isang kaibigang babae.
At sa di pa malamang kadahilanan, siya ay piniringan, pinagtulungang bugbugin, ginapos, tinakot, at hinihingan ng pera ng isang grupo ng kalalakihan noong January 22, Miyerkules.
Si Vhong ay kasalukuyang nagpapagaling at mawawala ng pansamantala sa ‘It’s Showtime’ at iba pa niyang proyekto.
(Vhong Navarro received an invitation from a female acquaintance to check out a condo in Fort. He was intimidated, beaten up, tied up, blindfolded, and the subject of extortion by a bunch of unidentified individuals on January 22, Wednesday.
